The splint

Here's what the splint looks like in all of its glory. You can see that it is THICK!
(Sorry it's so blurry. It was really hard to get a picture of it.)

Nice pictures. You have constructed a very complete blog; it's quite impressive. I am going to have the same surgery in Oct. I have learned a lot from your blog and I am thinking about starting my own before the surgery. You look great. Do you have any feeling in your upper lip and nose area yet? Are you able to eat scrambled eggs yet?

I don't like scrambled eggs but I would be able to eat them on this no chew diet. You'll probably only be on the liquid diet for a week (two max).

I have some feeling coming back. The left is more numb than the right. I can't feel my chin much. The numbness goes all the way up to my left eye. It's a very weird sensation! I think it will take a while but I do hope it all comes back!

Thank you for the compliment about my blog. :)

Yes, Happy Birthday Erin!! I was looking at some of your older pictures. The one "Holy long face" is not that bad. Check out. flatlongface.blogspot It's a weak start but I will have plenty of time to figure it out

You'll look awesome afterwards, I'm sure.

And just remember, I have a very small head!

Hey Erin,
Your swelling is really coming down! I can see a big difference just between day 22 and 24. How exciting! Your looking great!

Love the new haircut too! Very cute!

Hey Erin, I was just curious if you are vegan or vegetarian? (I just read the egg comment)

Erin said...

Vegetarian, not vegan. I just don't like scrambled eggs, or egg-taste.

Hi Erin, I had reconstructive jaw surgery (upper, lower) and a chin lift on June 9, 2010 and I kind of wish that I did the before and after pictures. I wasn't that bruised that much, just by my cheeck. I still have numbness on my bottom lip and chin and by the bridge of my nose on both sides. You look really good. I'll post some before and after pictures soon.
